Located in the Umaria district, near the city of Jabalpur of Madhya Pradesh, Bandhavgarh is the home of the tigers of the emerald forest. It is one of the most tiger dense forest and one of the most popular wildlife tourism sites in central India. Having 37 species of mammals, over 250 species of birds, 80 species of butterflies and many reptiles and amphibians, Bandhavgarh is one of the most bio diverse rich areas that has been attracting millions of tourist year round. It is also famous for rock paintings and natural and man-made heritage sites. Safaris is usually conducted via gypsies going through mixed vegetations ranging from tall grasslands to thick Sal forest into four different zones- Tala, Magdhi, Khitauli and Bandhavgarh Fort. The park remains open form October to June with maximum sightings taking place in dry summer months.

Best Time To Visit Bandhavgarh National Park

Bandhavgarh National Park remains open for tourists from 15th October to 30th June. Because of monsoon, Bandhavgarh National park remains closed for the remaining months.

Mostly tourist visit Bandhavgarh National park between October to March because the climate remains pleasant and we can find greenery everywhere in the forest.

From April to June the heat is unbearable and most of the vegetation at Bandhavgarh gets dried but sighting of Tiger is easier in these months than compare to winters.

How To Reach Bandhavgarh National Park

BY ROAD:

Bandhavgarh National park is easily accessible from major towns like Khajuraho, Jabalpur etc. Umaria is the closest town to the Bandhavgarh National Park.

BY RAIL:

Umaria (30 kms) and Katni (95 kms) are the nearest railhead to Bandhavgarh National Park with good train connectivity across India.

BY AIR:

Jabalpur (160 kms) and Khajuraho (225 kms) are the nearest domestic airport and Varanasi is the nearest International airport located at a distance of 355 kms.
