Nestling along the Baspa river Sangla Valley has one of its kind of natural beauty. Rugged Mountains, blue waters of Baspa river coming from Tibet, Apple Orchards, Green forest valley, There is no airport or railway stations in the vicinity of 400 kilometers so only way to access this place is by Surface, perhaps this is reason why Sangla is visited mostly by people who wish to discover the last frontiers of Himachal pradesh. In winters this valley disconnects with the rest of the world. In summers when temperature rises to 45 Degree in central india at Sangla you will need a fleece jacket and in night it will hit below 10. In Winters this place get disconnected from rest of Himachal.
In hills, Apart from season day or night temperature depends on the weather conditions, Means cloudy weather can trigger a dip in temperature while a sunny weather assures a normal season temperature.
April to June(Summer Season)-Very Good Time
If the weather is clear then in these months Morning and Evening remain cold (between 10 to 20 degree celsius) while afternoon becomes pleasant(between 15 to 25 degree ). But cloudy skies can make temperature take a dip and you may need a jacket even in the afternoon.
July to September(Monsoon Time)-Good Time
During the rainy season one can enjoy the lush green beauty of the valley and mountains. Spectacular views of snow-clad Himalayas also become clear. Which is rare in summer time. Sangla has a lot of fruit orchards and terrace farms so one can enjoy the fresh fruits in monsoon along with a village walk.
October to March(Winter Season)-Good Time
In these months morning and evening become frigid and on a sunny day afternoon remain cold further between December to February snowfall may take place any time so it is advised to travel with a fleece jacket, Muffler.
By Air
Chandigarh is the nearest airport which is well connected with other airports of India. From Chandigarh one can book a cab for Sangla. Sangla is 330 kms from Chandigarh and it takes 9-10 hours to reach Sangla.
By Train
Kalka is the closest railway station which is well connected with Delhi and other cities of India. Kalka is 310 Kms from Sangla. Although if one wishes to enjoy the ride of a hill train, Shimla is the nearest railway station.
By Coach
Rampur is the nearest place to Sangla which is connected to Delhi by coach. From Rampur one can book a cab for Sangla, Sangla is only 95 Kms and takes 3 hrs.
