The best time to visit Pench National Park is between October and June, when all the safari gates of national aprk remain open. From July to September only limited number of safari zones remain open.
Touria Core Zone: The Touria Zone is the most popular safari zone in Pench National Park, located on the park's western boundary, covering an area of over 140 square kilometers. The zone is known for its abundant wildlife and offers an excellent chance to spot tigers, leopards, and sloth bears. The zone also has several water bodies, attracting a variety of bird species like kingfishers and storks.
Karmajhiri Core Zone: The Karmajhiri Zone is the second-largest core zone in Pench National Park, covering an area of over 80 square kilometers. The zone is known for its rugged terrain and dense forests, offering an opportunity to spot a variety of wildlife like tigers, leopards, and wild dogs. The zone is also home to several ancient temples and forts, offering a glimpse into the park's cultural heritage.
Jamtara Core Zone: The Jamtara Zone is located on the park's eastern boundary and covers an area of over 40 square kilometers. The zone is known for its diverse landscape, including hills, valleys, and forests, offering an opportunity to spot a variety of wildlife like tigers, leopards, and sloth bears.
Apart from above Core zones, Pench National Park has several buffer zones surrounding the core zones, which act as a transition area between the park and the human settlements.
Rukhad Buffer Zone: The Rukhad Buffer Zone is located on the southern boundary of Pench National Park in Madhya Pradesh and covers an area of over 130 square kilometers. This zone is known for its rugged terrain and dense forests and offers an opportunity to spot wildlife like tigers, leopards, and wild dogs.
Khawasa Buffer Zone: The Khawasa buffer zone is known for its diverse flora and fauna, including a variety of bird species, herbivores like deer and antelopes, and predators like tigers and leopards. The zone also features scenic hills, grasslands, and water bodies, providing visitors with an opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
By Air: The nearest airport to Pench National Park is Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur, which is about 93 km away from the park. Several airlines operate daily flights to Nagpur from major Indian cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, and Kolkata.It takes just 60-90 minutes to reach at Pench National Park from Nagpur.
By Train: The nearest railway station to Pench National Park is Seoni Railway Station, which is about 30 km away from the park
Nagpur Railway station is around 90 kms and well connected to all major Indian cities
By Road: Pench National Park is well-connected by road and can be easily reached by bus, taxi, or private car. The park is located on the Nagpur-Jabalpur highway and can be accessed from major cities like Nagpur, Jabalpur, and Seoni.
