Bandhavgarh National Park is a popular wildlife reserve located in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh, India. It covers an area of approximately 105 square kilometers and is known for its rich biodiversity, particularly its population of Royal Bengal Tigers.

The park was declared a national park in 1968 and was later expanded in 1982 to include neighboring forests. It is situated at an altitude of 800 meters to 1,078 meters above sea level and is characterized by steep ridges, deep valleys, and dense forests.

In addition to tigers, the park is also home to a variety of other wildlife species, including leopards, sloth bears, wild boars, deer, monkeys, and numerous species of birds. The park is divided into three zones for tourism purposes, with Tala Zone being the most popular for tiger sightings.

What is best time to visit Bandhavgarh National Park?

Bandhavgarh National Park is open to visitors from October to June, with the best time to visit being from February to April. The summer season, from April to June, can be hot and dry, but it is still a good time to visit the park as the animals can be easily spotted near water sources. The monsoon season, from July to September, is not recommended as the park remains closed during this period due to heavy rainfall and flooding.
