Located at an elevation of 2420 meters, Binsar is famous for its majestic and panoramic view of Himalayan peaks from Binsar Zero point. The Zero point can be accessed after a short trek of 2 kms to witness the 360-degree view of the Himalayan ranges, which includes Nanda Devi, Kedarnath, Shivling, and Trishul. The small hill town, surrounded by Binsar Wildlife sanctuary, is one of the most scenic and beautiful places in Kumaon Himalayas. Binsar wildlife sanctuary has rich diversity of flora and fauna with forests of oak and rhododendron with a large species of flowers and birds along with some wild animals. Binsar is an ideal place for beginner trekkers. There are many small and long treks amidst the mountain trails. Binsar is popular for recreation, birding, and nature photography.
To witness the crystal clear views of Himalayan ranges, November to February are the best months to visit. The months of March to June offer a pleasant, relaxing and tranquil atmosphere that attracts most of the tourists to visit in these months. July and August are monsoon months, that makes the Binsar more green and beautiful.
Binsar is easily accessible by road from below popular cities
Haldwani: 110 kms
Ram Nagar: 150 kms
Delhi: 390 kms
Nearest railway stations are Kathgodam and Ram Nagar which are around 105 kms and 150 kms respectively.
Delhi airport is around 390 kms with frequent flights from all over the world.
Pant Nagar airport is 140 kms, but flights at this airport are limited.
