Overview

Lying in the continuity of the Tropical and subtropical dry broadleaf forests, Panna National Park  is nested in the Panna and Chattarpur district of Madhya Pradesh.  This deciduous forest landscape has many spectacular sites like ts famed gorges and is home to many mammals and over 200 species of birds. Along with the Ken Gharial Sanctuary and north and south forest division, the national park forms the Panna Tiger Reserve which once lost all its tigers in 2009, but now a strong hold of the magnificent feline with more than 50 individuals roaming in the protected area. With a mix of tigers brought in various tigers in Central India, Panna has successful maintained it tiger population and now has become one of the most sought after wildlife place in Madhya Pradesh. Other mammals include Leopards, Sloth Bears, Spotted and Sāmbhar deers. Safaris are curated in gypsies mostly in the buffer region which has two gates- Madla and Hinauta. The park is closed for the rain season from July to September with the best time to visit being from December to February.

Best Time To Visit Panna National Park

Panna National Park remains open for tourists from 15th October to 30th June. Because of monsoon, Panna National park remains closed for the remaining months.

Tourist mostly visit Panna National park between October to March because temperature remains pleasant  and is apt for local sightseeing.

Temperature from April to June are extremely hot which makes it very tough for visitors doing safari but sighting of Tiger is easier in these months than compare to winters.

How To Reach Panna National Park

BY ROAD:

Panna National Park is well connected by road from many towns. It is located on National Highway – 75.

BY RAIL:

Located at a distance of 176 kms Jhansi railway station is the nearest railhead which is connected to all major cities in India. Jhansi is an important junction in central India.

BY AIR:

Khajuraho (26 kms) is the nearest domestic airport. There are daily flights from Delhi and Varanasi.
