Home to nearly 33000 ancient Hindu Temples,Tamil Nadu is a indian state and located in southern India. Most of these temples are more than 1000 years old and few of them are more than 2000 years old. These temples give an unique insight in culture, the reach of art, architecture of that period. In fact the inscription on walls, sculptures and official records tells a lot about the socio and economic structure of that period.
On arrival our executive will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Remainder of day at leisure . In the evening visit the beach of Mahabalipuram. Dinner and overnight at Mahabalipuram.
Post breakfast visit Sea Shore temple, krishna butter ball, Krishna Mandapam and Arjuna Penance. Post lunch visit sculptors Pancha Rathas. In the evening visit Covelong beach. Dinner and overnight at Mahabalipuram. These are a group of Monuments of Mahabalipuram which are designated as Unesco World Heritage Site.
Krishna Butter Ball is a 250 ton boulder with a shape of rock this boulder is resting on an inclined rock. In history attempts were made to move that boulder but did not work.
Arjuna Penance or Descent of the Ganges is a Rock Relief made on a rock of size 29 m × 13 m. It was carved out on two monolithic rocks. Here It is worthy to note that relief has similarity with Tapasya of Arjun and as well as Bhagiratha. This is a perfect example of Symbolic artwork of ancient times.
Post breakfast proceed for Thanjavur by afternoon reach at Thanjavur. Post lunch visit Brihadishwara Temple(Lord Shiva Temple). Dinner and overnight at Thanjavur.
Brihadishwara Temple is also known as Rajeshwara temple or Rajarajeshwaram. Entire temple is made of granite stone, surprisingly there is no granite stone quarry in 100 kms radius of the temple. Its cap stone weighs around 80 ton, here the question comes how they would have placed that capstone at top of Gupuram when there was no cranes or any other advanced engineering tool. This temple is epitome of DRAVIDIAN ARCHITECTURE and one of the best monuments of India.
Post breakfast proceed for Rameshwaram. By afternoon reach at Rameshwaram. On arrival check in rooms. Post lunch visit Agni Theertham followed by a visit to Arulmigu Ramanathaswamy Temple. Dinner and overnight at Rameshwaram.
Agni Theertham is a sea shore where devotees take bath before entering in Arulmigu Ramanathaswamy Temple , here Arulmigu means shree and Ramanathaswamy means lord of Rama (refers to lord Shiva).
Post breakfast visit Dhanushkodi Beach. Dhanushkodi, once a bustling town now wears a deserted look. After the 1964 cyclone no one permanently resides here. Visit the beautiful beach of Danuskodi. Post lunch proceeds for Madurai. On arrival check in rooms. In the evening visit Meenakshi Temple. Dinner and overnight at Madurai.
For the last 2500 years Meenakshi temple has been open for its devotees, Sprawling in an area of 14 acres It is the largest temple complex in Tamilnadu. In this temple every pillar have life size sculptors and ceiling and walls are decorated with murals.
Post breakfast proceeds for Puducherry. Post lunch visit Auroville, A universal city where more than 2500 people from different countries reside. Their way of life is an inspiration for many others.. In the evening visit Promenade Beach.Dinner and overnight at Puducherry.
Post breakfast visit 500 years old Manakula Vinayagar(lord Ganesha) temple.
